Small, sporty, and bad: The Toyota GR Yaris immediately won over the market and the hearts of the Japanese manufacturer’s fans, to the extent that it has earned itself its very own single-make championship. In fact, Toyota Motor Italia has officially opened registration for the GR Yaris Rally Cup, a competition that comes off the back of the Toyota Gazoo Racing team’s many motorsport successes on a global level.
A 1.6 turbo three-cylinder engine with 261 hp and 360 N⋅m of torque, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. A permanent and electronically controlled Toyota GR-FOUR all-wheel drive system. And a Torsen LSD differential. The GR Yaris that will compete in the championship will be the rally derivation of the road version. It will be created by a specific race preparation kit, with which the teams will be able to prepare their cars as per the regulations of the national R1T 4WD category.
